Week two of the NFL season has already arrived and has some intriguing games for fans to enjoy. The storylines and key matchups keep so many invested when their teams are not on TV. In week two, we are gifted with plenty of things to keep our eyes on, which we are ready to dive into…
Jameis Winston Vs. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Mike Evans Vs. Marshon Lattimore
Somehow, the Bucs and Saints are playing in the one o’clock window and this should be one of the better games of the day. When these two teams matched up for the first time 2021 Winston was injured and would miss the rest of the year. Coming off a fantastic 4th quarter in a comeback win, Winston will look to take it to his former team.
We get a two-for-one out of this game as we get a wide receiver and cornerback matchup that never disappoints. We always want to see the best on the best and these two guys, Mike Evans and Marshon Lattimore, are some of the best at their crafts. These two have never been short of dramatics when they lock up. Winston and Evans had a famous run-in with Lattimore during Winston’s time in Tampa.
Lamar Jackson Vs. The Dolphins defense
Last season the Ravens matched up with the Dolphins on a Thursday night and it was a night for the Ravens to forget. Miami used a heavy blitz game plan which caused fits for Jackson all night. He was sacked four times and the Dolphins registered 7 QB hits. The Raven’s season would eventually trend downward after the loss while the Dolphin’s season went upstream. This time, though, both teams are coming in 1-0. Most importantly, the Dolphins are no longer led by defensive specialist and former head coach Brian Flores. With offensive-minded Mike McDaniel now in charge, can he and defensive Coordinator Josh Boyer continue the headaches for Lamar Jackson?
Joe Burrow Vs. Cooper Rush!?
It looked like we were going to get an excellent Week Two QB matchup with Burrow vs. Dak Prescott. However, things change. Dak is out and Cooper Rush is in, who now must hold down the fort while Dak recovers from hand surgery. Burrow is coming off a game to forget in Week One - he turned the ball over five times. Now he must deal with Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs. If the Cowboys and Rush can somehow pull off a win here, their season would suddenly back on track and would, simultaneously, leave the Bengals wondering what is happening to the start of their year.
Aaron Rodgers Vs. The Bears
To the surprise of many, the Bears are coming into this game 1-0. After an upset win over the 49ers they go into this game with confidence. The Packers are the exact opposite; they got dominated by the Vikings. Rodgers traditionally dominates the Bears and had his way against them last season, racking seven touchdowns in the two matchups, but this Packers team doesn’t have a go-to option for the quarterback. Allen Lazard should return to the field for the game and the Pack need him. Rookies Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson are being looked at as potential big pieces of the offense but need time to adjust to the NFL. Can either step up fast enough for Rodgers to depend on them?
Justin Jefferson Vs. Darius Slay and the Eagles
We will have two games on Monday night and many eyes will be on this matchup right here. When an elite wideout and corner matchup vs one another it feels like a boxing match. Justin Jefferson versus Darius slay is already must-see Tv for NFL fans but add in the fact the Eagles took, Jalen Reagor who now plays for the Vikings, over Jefferson makes things better. The Viking’s new offense will keep Jefferson on the move but it will be exciting every time these two great players line up against each other. Jefferson will never say it but one has to believe he would like to torch the Eagles for his team and himself.
